Hristo and his brother, who grew up in the snowboard and skate culture, were searching for a name for their future brand that would carry a double meaning. Thus, “Stinky” is born – in English, it means “stinky,” but in Gabrovo slang, it means “cents.” Ironically, their socks are actually designed to prevent odor, while their second “significance” refers to their roots.
Before starting the brand, the two brothers already had experience in distributing snowboard equipment from the USA. Realizing that they were good at marketing and communication, but failing to convince foreign brands to work with them on video content, they decided to create their own product for promotion. The choice fell on socks – easy to produce, accessible, compact, and with the potential to unite people from different parts of the world.
Today, Stinky Socks is among the few global brands that specialize entirely in socks. But the road to this recognition has been paved with hard work, constant challenges, and a desire to create not just a product, but an entire culture.
